Funeral costs for Jean LaCroix
Donation protected
January 15, 2018 was a sad day for my family, my father Jean LaCroix passed away. He had been sick for a few years with diabetes and his kidneys could no longer function without dialysis. He was so tired, his hands hurt, his feet hurt, and all he wished for was a day where he actually felt good again. Thankfully, every day for Jean now is pain-free.
Jean was born July 16, 1954. He was still what I consider young when he passed, only 64! He was a classically trained musician, he had played instruments all of his life: guitar, drums, violin, harmonica, etc etc etc. Jean also had a music studio where he gave lessons - he took great pride in giving his lessons, and I was lucky enough to get a few cello lessons as well! Anyone who knew Jean, knew how much he truly loved music. It was such a sad day when Jean could no longer play his guitar because his hands hurt too much, that day must have broken his heart and his spirit. But, the only thing that probably came before music in Jean’s life was my younger brother Aaron. His best friend.
Jean had the gift of gab too, he always had a story or an opinion about something going on in the world, or a book he recently read, and he was always willing to chat about it.
Jean may not have been my biological father but he had been there since I was about 2 years old. He came into my mother’s life and took the role as father for 3 kids that weren’t his own. How many men would do that? He and my mother then gave us little baby Aaron - who was a complete surprise and a great gift to our family. Jean raised Aaron to be a great man, and now Aaron is a father and a step-father as well, actually adopting his wife’s first daughter. I guess you learn by example in life!
My family is not rich by any means and this funeral was such a surprise, because we all really thought Jean would get better again, as he had in the past.
The funeral cost approximately $7,000 so if anyone can help raise money to cover some of the costs, my family would be forever grateful. Even $1 or $5 helps.... Once we have raised the funds, the money will go to Aaron, and then disbursed to the funeral home if necessary, pay back anyone who assisted in covering the costs, and take care of any other expenses.
My family thanks anyone who is willing to donate, and anyone that simply wants to read a little about Jean LaCroix, my father. He is greatly missed everyday.
Thank you kindly.....
