After months of noticing changes in my bowel habits, such as constipation, blood in my stool, abdominal bloating, stools that were thinner than normal, which I thought may have been brought on by me having high blood pressure, I was finally convince by my parents to go see a doctor. While at the doctor visit around the end of November 2014, I was diagnosed with stage 2 COLORECTAL CANCER in which there is 3 subcategories (Stage 2A, Stage 2B, and Stage 2C). At this time I have Stage 2A COLORECTAL CANCER. All together there are 4 stages of COLORECTAL CANCER which is the fourth most common form of cancer (or third, excluding skin cancers) in both men and women in the United States. Not only am I fighting to prevent me from reaching the last 2 stages of COLORECTAL CANCER, I’m fighting to remain at subcategory 2A, In which the cancer has grown into the outermost layers of the colon or rectum, but has not grown through them. It has not reached nearby organs or lymph node, and has not spread to distant organs. With treatments from the chemotherapy and radiation I hope to be cured from cancer at this stage. African Americans have the highest incidence of this disease in the United States.
After undergoing the chemotherapy and radiation the tissue around my rectum became very weak and I developed an abscess that caused a hole between my rectum and urethra known as Anal Fistulas, which cause me to have a very bad infection in my testicles, to treat the Anal Fistulas and not to have the infection, in no way affect the cancer removal I had to have surgery to drain the infection and to redirect my large intestine, Inow have to have a Colostomy Bag. I was the hospital for a month in a lot of pain. Prayers go up and blessings come down.In Jesus name i pray, Amen.
I am being treated at Gwinnett Medical Center, Lawrenceville, GA.
