Jesse's Fight: Malignant Melanoma
Donation protected
My husband, Jesse, is a 29 year old army veteran. He served his country for 8 years and has 3 combat deployments under his belt. He is also a loving father, supportive husband, hard working provider, and the greatest person I know. On October 13th, 2014 we learned Jesse had melanoma. 2 weeks later, after an excision and sentinel node biopsy, we learned it had spread and received the diagnosis of stage III malignant melanoma. He is set to undergo another surgery to remove all lymph nodes in his right groin which will have him down for a month or so. We are very hopeful that the cancer has not spread any further and that surgery followed by some immunotherapy will have Jesse back on the mend.
After separating from the Army in March and a cross country move from North Carolina back to sunny San Diego (where we both are from) Jesse received an amazing job opportunity. We moved BACK to the east coast to Annapolis for Jesse's new job in August. I truly think it was an act of God that brought us here as we now find Jesse being treated at Johns Hopkins with a top melanoma specialist. While we are extremely fortunate to have help from both our amazing families, I thought reaching out to this beautiful world couldn't hurt :). With medical bills, Jesse unable to work periodically, and me (a stay at home mom who would love to contribute but finds myself with a growing life inside me at the moment), stress is starting to set in. Any little bit would help take the focus off the almighty dollar and allow Jesse to fight this, heal, and get back to the life-loving jokster we all know and LOVE.
XOXO Jenna, Jesse, Finn, and baby #2
