Jessica & Dillon Need Some Help with Medical Bills

Donation protected

On Tuesday, September 17, the day before my birthday, I was unexpectedly laid off after my position was eliminated at my company. The next day, the ceiling in my bedroom above my bed and my dog Orion’s crate fell through due to an overflowing drain pan for my HVAC unit that got clogged and did not shut off like it was supposed to. The line has since been unclogged and Orion has been relocated to the living room as we try to line up repairs to be made to the ceiling. All of this made for a particularly unpleasant week in a year of many rough weeks.

Earlier this year on Easter, my wife Jessica was taken by ambulance to the ER due to an arrhythmia that had her heart beating well over 200 bpm and required medical intervention to get it back to normal rhythm. Jessica has lived with an irregular heartbeat since her early teenage years, but we have seen the frequency of cardiac episodes increase dramatically in recent years. Due to this, it was finally decided that she would undergo a cardiac ablation to give her the quality of life that she deserved. This means a doctor would surgically go into her heart and burn a pathway that was misfiring and causing her to go into SVT regularly. On July 29th, Jessica underwent the procedure and was officially diagnosed with AVNRT which required the surgeon to burn the pathway beside the pacemaker of her heart. While this is one of the more dangerous locations, it also one of the more common ones. Thankfully, everything went as smoothly as we could have hoped and she was given the all clear from her cardiologist a few days after Labor Day.

Although we were lucky to have insurance through all of this, we still had our $5,000 deductible for Jessica’s procedures along with the deductible for the house insurance to help with the repairs to the ceiling. Normally, this would be a bit of a financial hit but nothing that we could not handle. Unfortunately, due to the layoff and not knowing how soon I will be able to find another job, I have to admit we could use some help to cover these expenses. Jessica and I would greatly appreciate any support you could give through donations, sharing this GoFundMe page or any leads you could provide for any marketing related jobs around Nashville for which I might be suited. The funds raised will go straight to covering these medical payments and repairing the ceiling so Orion can move back into his room.

Jessica, Orion and I truly appreciate anything you can to help.
