After spending many years helping others in many ways as a Religious,camp councilor,nurse,and broadcast instructor,it is difficult for me to hold out my hand for help at this time in my life. My main concern is for my daughter,son,and grandchildren.
I lost my job in 2014 after 26 years as a student advisor,senior instructor due to poor student enrollments. Because I am owed back wages since 2013,I have had to rely on extended bank credit and social security retirement in order to survive. I honestly would like to pay the banks back in time,but feel I must first focus with my family on surviving.I have found it difficult at the age of 73 to find part-time work,but continue to try.
I am a cancer survivor since 1980, and have lived with diabetes since the age of 50,which has been controlled through the use of medication. I am resolved to continue to fight what is sent my way as long as He supports me.
For over three years I have had nasal polyps that cause me to only breath through my mouth. Nasal sprays offer very little help. Because of this,my sense of smell is gone. My speach is also affected by this, preventing me from doing voice-over work. My sense of taist is also affected. An ENT doctor told me within my first year of suffering with this,that I needed to have an opperation. Since I only have Medicare part "A" I have not been able to have this opperation due to a lack of funds. I live on fixed retirement from Social Security, and a small pension.
I am not sure what,if anything will come of this,but I am thankful for any kindness extended to me and my family. One way,for those who are interested in intering into the field of radio broadcasting is to purchase a book I wrote last year. The title is "Speaking Professionally On Radio/TV",found on Amazon under "Speaking As A Broadcaster", and as an E-book on Itunes. Both titles can be found on-line with the plublishing company "Blurb". The little profit I earn on the sale of each book will be of some help. Food store cards are a great help with food each month.
