Joe Molitor, CPD, Cancer Fund

You might know Joe Molitor, either as a cop or neighbor, but chances are he was in your life to help you when nobody else would. Joe has always been there to help anybody, regardless of who you are or where you came from; he’s helped build decks, guide careers, shovel, plow, bring food to and helped protect communities. He’s the guy you want as a neighbor. 


Joe gave 32 years to the Chicago Police Department and now is a retired detective. He’s stood up to gangs, thugs, murderers and thieves. He’s a tough guy; a cop’s cop.

For the past ten years –a decade– Joe has been fighting aggressive forms of cancer and multiple myeloma. In these ten years, he’s had two stem cell transplants at Mayo Clinic, chemo, multiple rounds of radiation treatments, many bone biopsies, studies and car-T cell therapy. His medical help at Mayo has been outstanding, and what they’re learning will work forward for countless other people, but Joe’s medical bills, and expenses along the way, became overbearing; one medication is over $1,000 a month, and there are more. 


In retirement, nothing can prepare a person for such overwhelming, debilitating debt, and one’s survival should not be left up to what you can afford. 

Our brother Joe is a little too proud to ask for help, but this is when HE needs it, and if you’re one of the many people who’ve been affected by Joe’s friendship or help, it’s time to help back… and that time is right now.
