Just a few weeks ago while she played with her dollhouse, babbled along to her books, tickled her baby brother and mucked around the yard in her rain boots, 2-year old Julia Zepeda complained about her legs hurting. What might have been just "growing pains" concerned her parents due to the bruising and pinprick red dots of bleeding under her skin. These symptoms alerted doctors to something more alarming indeed.

Julia was life-flighted from her home in Wyoming to the Children's Hospital in Denver, Colorado for an emergency blood transfusion and was diagnosed with childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). Julia will have to remain in Colorado for the time being in order to receive life-saving chemotherapy treatments. Her parents, Elizabeth (Del Curto) and Henry and 5 month-old brother Philip, have had to relocate temporarily to Colorado while Julia begins treatment and will eventually travel with Julia back and forth between Wyoming and Colorado for the next 3 years for Julia to receive regular treatments.

From ER visits to long-term care over the course of the next 3 years, medical expenses can wipe out savings and leave behind debt that lasts for years. Assistance for medical costs is a powerful way to help the Zepeda family focus their efforts on supporting Julia during her path to recovery.  Your donations will help pay for prescriptions, doctor visits, procedures, treatments, and medical/basic relocation costs necessary for Julia to fight and survive childhood leukemia. As this young family reels from the sudden and shocking news of a cancer diagnosis and next steps, the last thing they should be worrying about is the financial burden. All donations will go directly to Julia and her family to help them cover medical costs and support them in the coming months.
