The first rule of Yeet Club is tell everybody about yeet Club!

Hi everyone,
I'm reaching out today to ask my incredible friends and their friends and even strangers, for help. I have been on a challenging yet empowering journey towards gender affirmation through transition. And now i need surgery.

Hello, my name is Pinky I am a nonbinary/genderfluid/agender/trans/other human (i use neopronouns Xe/Xem/Xyr) and have decided to share my story in the hope of not only reaching my goal for surgery and healing costs but also inspiring others to ask for the care they need. It’s not easy to ask for help and I know people are so proud of me for finally doing so. We know that community care is strong in the LGBTQ+ and trans communities.
I am the creative force behind pink dalek the travelling crochet dalek (pictured) and an artist and crocheter. Me, not the dalek! Though dont tell dalek Chris that.

The Struggle for Gender-Affirming Healthcare
As I'm sure you know, navigating the healthcare system as a trans person is incredibly difficult, and I have experienced some really challenging times. Despite advocating for myself for years, the path to gender-affirming care has been extremely long and lonely. I’ve have been on the waiting list for assessment for essential treatments for over four years, and during this time, my mental and physical health have suffered greatly. No trans person should feel alone going through this tough process. I have had some incredible support from friends and charities who have picked up the slack where official health services have failed
Transition surgery is a significant and necessary step for me in my journey towards living authentically. Decades of consideration have gone into this decision, its not just the last four years of waiting, this has been on my mind for over ¾ of my life. This surgery will help alleviate the gender dysphoria that has been a constant source of distress and will allow me to move forward. Every trans person deserves to live as themselves!

Financial Need
While some gender-affirming surgeries are available through the NHS, theres no guarantee it will be granted and the waiting times are excruciatingly long. I’ve already waited so much, it took a long time just to get a gp to do a GIC referral, and the wait just for an initial assesment has felt like 15 lifetimes. Wearing binders is causing knock on issues such as sores, infections and back pain, no matter how much care I take. I am now seeking private surgery. The estimated cost for transition surgery and related expenses, including preparing my body, therapeutic support and healing, is around £16,000. This includes:
Surgery and hospital fees
Pre and post-surgery care including some personal trainer sessions
Travel and accommodation for consultations and surgery
Therapy and healing treatments to support mental health pre and during recovery

How You Can Help
In the spirit of community care, my friends are reaching out to the wider queer and trans community to help me reach the goal. Here are some ways you can contribute:
Donate: Any amount, big or small, will make a significant difference. Your contribution will go directly towards covering the costs of my assessment, therapy, surgery and healing
Share: Spread the word about the fundraiser on social media, with friends and family, and within your community. If you have networks with a big platform please consider asking them to share.
Fundraise: Consider organising a small fundraising event, such as a bake sale, quiz night, or online event, to support.

Pinky Promise
i’m extremely uncomfortable with photos these days, the collage picture is a small sampling of the things I will be able to give more time and energy to after this is done. and at the end of all this I hope to post a photo with a massive smile on my face, though you’ll likely need to find and follow socials for this!

Pinky's Message
"Being open about my needs has been a way for me to advocate for myself and help others learn to do the same. It's not easy for any trans person right now, but together we make sure we all get to access our basic health care and rights. Thank you so much for your support."

Your generosity can help me finally receive the care I need and deserve. I feel incredibly awkward doing this, however its time to move forward and stop being held back by the medical system. Please let's come together now at this step in my journey.
Thank you for your kindness and support!!
