A Little Help for a Generous Young Soul
Donation protected
Last week, my nephew (and Godson), Jonah DeToro, celebrated his 20th birthday from a treatment room at Children's Hospital in Wisconsin. What is normally a joyous occasion surrounded by friends and family was instead marked by undergoing his fourth round of chemotherapy. Anyone who knows Jonah knows this young man is a fighter. In 2019, he bravely overcame a brain tumor on his pituitary stalk —and now faces an even more aggressive germinoma which has spread tumors throughout his brain and spine.
These debilitating tumors have made it difficult for Jonah to move and walk—but he still finds a way to light up the room. For such a young gentle soul, he is generous, intelligent, and funny beyond his years.
He will, without a doubt, make this world a better place when he's older. We are calling on the selfless generosity of friends, family, and even strangers to help him get there.
Jonah's most recent numbers are showing optimistic results. In October, he will begin a 4-6 week hospital stay for additional chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant. God willing, these steps will encourage a faster recovery using his body's natural defenses.
We humbly ask for your support to help with some of the costs associated with his treatment and in-patient care. Insurance did not cover the expenses for his brain surgery. If you are not in a position to donate, your prayers and well-wishes are endlessly appreciated. Thank you all!
