Jordan Self is my grandson. He plays football and basketball for Sullivan Central High School. He suffered a severe injury on August 26th at Central during their first home game of the year. At first he thought he just had the air knocked out of him, but as the night went on, the pain was overwhelming the next morning. After getting the news at Bristol Memorial that his pancreas had been fractured in two, he was transferred by ambulance to UT Trauma Center. He was released and has gone back for a visit with the Trauma Surgeon and has been back in the hospital at UT for another stay. He now has a hematoma on the pancreas and a contusion on the spleen. If you know Jordan, you know how caring and loving and supportive he is of others. He has faith in God that He will completely heal his body and be back on the Court in the future. Costs for the travel and the food and the gas and back and forth to UT have not been cheap. In order to stay with their son, Tim and Holly have not been able to work on a regular basis. Jordan needs 24/7 care. We cannot even begin to imagine how much the medical bills will be. If surgery has to be performed on his pancreas, he will be transported to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital. They are unable to perform the surgery at UT. I am asking for your help and support during this very hard painful time for his family and little brothers that look up to him. The healing process is going to be long and hard, but I know Jordan is strong and can do it. Thank you for any support you can give. If you are unable to give at this time, please keep my family and especially Jordan in your prayers. This has been devastating to all of us, but we know God has a plan and purpose for Jordan's life.
