Jose Heri Villalobos Stroke Recovery Fund
Donation protected
Dear Family and Friends,
I never imagined my family having to start a GoFundMe for a situation like this. It was a tough decision to make and in the end we know that it is something we really need to do now. On Wednesday, December 16th, my dad suffered a stroke and was rushed to the ER. He was then transferred to Loma Linda Hospital where he had surgery to remove a blood clot in his brain and he has since been under 24-hour care in the ICU.
We are still waiting for him to respond and we’re continuing to pray for him. His doctors advise that we prepare for a slow recovery and long process with rehabilitation when he does start responding. Prior to this, my parents were barely making ends meet. With my dad expected to be out of work for most likely a year, my mom and dad will be heavily stressed financially given that my dad will most likely require 24-hour care with a special diet and medications.
My dad has always been a fun and loving guy and I owe many of my accomplishments to him. He is known and loved by his family as well as many members of our community in the La Puente/Los Angeles area. As a survivor of the Civil War in El Salvador as a child, he faced many challenges as a first generation immigrant, none of which stopped him from staying positive and full of laughter. If you’ve ever spent time around my dad, I’m sure you were able to experience his warm, loving jokes that never fail to make you laugh. We know that as he goes through his rehabilitation he will continue to stay strong.
At this moment, my sisters, my mom and I would appreciate any support you’re able to offer. We know many of us have been struggling financially, especially in these unprecedented times. We understand if you can’t give financially and would appreciate you keeping my dad in your prayers and lighting a candle in his name for a quick and steady recovery.
Much love and respect,
