On Friday (2/16/18) around 9pm, Jose Was crossing the street at his apartment complex in Soquel. When a car hit him at a high rate of speed. Originally the driver left the scene but turned around, coming back 10 minutes after the accident. After being airlifted to the trauma center in Santa Clara Jose’s injuries were indeed confirmed as major; a punctured liver, multiple fractured ribs, a severely fractured arm, broken clavicle, shoulder and shattered pelvis. He is currently on a ventilator to assist with his breathing. He has had his first of many surgeries, after healing in the hospital doctors say he will need to go to an inpatient rehab to start intensive physical therapy. His wife Maribel, has been by his side since the accident driving back and forth from Soquel while, her mother takes care of their two beautiful daughters. Please help them as this is a devastating incident to their family and a huge loss to their much needed income.
