Today, I write as a proud father who is working to send his oldest son off to college in August 2015.
As a father of 3 sons, I take great pride in announcing to you that my oldest son Joshua Michael Lancaster will be graduating from Long Reach High School in Columbia, Maryland on May 26th, 2015.
Joshua will be attending the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) as a freshman this August 26, 2015. Joshuas' intended major will be Social Studies/ History with a minor in Political Science. Joshua has aspirations to become a school teacher and plans to work his way to become a Principal.
Joshua is a fantastic son who makes great personal decisions when out with his friends. He has grown to become a very smart, caring and helpful young man.
Facts about Joshua:
Extremely Bright - as evidenced by his decision to attend his fathers Alma Mater UMES!!
God Fearing - member of St. John Baptist Church in Columbia, MD. - 6 years
Involved in the community - member of the parking lot ministry and the food pantry ministry serving those in need the 3rd Saturday of each month. (did this for years)
Strong Work Ethic - outside of school, Joshua has held a part-time job for the past 2+ years. (Bob Evans Restaurant)
Student Athlete - Joshua wrestled on the Varsity team for 3 years serving as Team Captain his senior year. Joshua also ran track on the Varsity Track team for Long Reach as well.
Observing Joshua grow into a fine young man over the years has been a wonderful gift as a father. When your child goes out in the world without you, knowing he or she has the maturity level to continue to behave as if you were still there is exciting. Joshua is a born leader. He has been raised to always make his own decisions instead of simply going along for the ride. Joshua knows how to quickly analyze a situation and make decisions based on "doing the right thing".
Joshua has a very promising life and career ahead of him.
