Jules (Denise) Togerson

Hello and thank you for taking the time to read my gofundme story.  As some of you know I have a very dear friend named Jules Togerson.  Some of you call her Denise.  I actually prefer to call her Julesy!

Jules was diagnosed earlier this week with Stage 3 ovarian cancer that has spread to her uterus, cervix, and abdomen.  Because of this the doctor wants to get her into surgery next week on Wednesday January 20th.  The hope is to surgically remove all the cancer and then follow up with chemotherapy.  

Jules will be in the hospital for 3 to 5 days and then recovering for 3 to 4 weeks.  During this time of course it means she can't work.  As a server she has no sick or vacation pay.  In addition, while she has basic insurance that is going to cover some of her medical costs, its not going to cover everything.  And her treatment is not just surgery, but 6 months of chemotherapy, on going doctor's visits for 3 to 5  years, medication, and any other expenses.

I am hoping that gathering these funds immediately will help ease her worry while she goes through her initial recovery and then supports her long-term recovery expenses.

For those of you who know Jules you know what a positive and beautiful person she is.  She would do anything to help anyone, and she has probably helped you in some way if you are her friend.  I can't imagine a world without her in it.  And I know that any support you can provide will be used to help someone who loves life and is in a very scary place of losing that life.
