Julie's "OMG I HAVE CANCER" fund
Donation protected
I've written "my story" a couple of times now, and I've deleted them all. I'm not entirely sure what to say. I don't know if I should be myself, someone who is typically facetious and tends to laugh through hard times, or if I should be more formal and clinical. I'm just going to try my best to be honest and straight forward.
First, welcome to my page, whether you are a friend, family, or a complete stranger, if you are reading this you got as far as the second paragraph and I appreciate that. My name is Julie and very recently my entire life changed when I was diagnosed with stage 2ish (they think it's between stage 2 and 3) cancer. To be more specific, I have a malignant neoplasm in my left breast. My tumor is very aggressive, so I have to start chemo right away.
Unfortunately (as if cancer at 30 isn't unfortunate enough), I recently changed careers. I am optimistic that I will be able to work through treatment, but I have not yet been at my new job for 3 months, meaning I do not have insurance. Obviously this is not an ideal situation, which is why I started this campaign. I am asking for donations for medical treatments such as my cancer port implant, chemotherapy, my surgery (lumpectomy or mastectomy we won't know until after chemotherapy treatments), possible radiation and (hopefully I won't need this ) breast reconstruction.
I am at a state hospital, and NYC is one of the best places for my situation (beign young and poor), but costs will certainly add up, and any help would be greatly appreciated. If you got as far as the last paragraph, you are truly a hero and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thanks again for any donation!
