Retired K-9 Falco Needs Surgery

Donation protected
K-9 Falco is a retired dual purpose K9 trained in criminal apprehension as well as explosive detection. Falco worked on the Las Vegas Strip as a bomb dog prior to his retirement in 2018.

In the summer of 2018 Falco was diagnosed with Cauda Equina Syndrome. This is when the last few discs in his spine get inflamed and swell. This causes pinching of the nerves located between the discs which is quite painful. Fortunately the doctors were able to use steroids to control the inflammation and swelling. However, Falco was retired from service at this time due to the doctors not recommending that he jump and bite bad guys any longer.

The doctors advised that this issue will more than likely return as Falco was only 4 years old at the time of his retirement. That's where we are now. Unfortunately, the issue has returned and Falco is needing a surgery called a Dorsal Laminectomy to take care of it. This surgery, coupled with the cost of additional MRI's, medication, and physical therapy, etc needed is going to be upwards of $10,000.

When working K9s retire, the cost of any and all medical expenses gets passed onto the handler. We hope that you can help this hero!

Thank you!
