Running the London Marathon 2024
This is the biggest challenge I have ever set myself, to run a full marathon. I have always wanted to run a marathon and when I was selected on the ballot to run the London Marathon on 21st April 2024, I thought, "Let's get going!"
This is going to be a very personal challenge, one to improve my physical health and mental resilience. Over the past few years, I have wanted to get myself into shape, but have always failed. I am determined that this will be different, that I will become a healthier person, a stronger person.
While training for next year's London Marathon, I would like to raise some money for the Keele Community First Responder scheme. I have been a Community First Responder at Keele since May 2021. This is a charity very close to my heart, full of selfless volunteers who give up their free time to respond to 999 emergencies in the local community. As volunteers, we do this for free, we just want to be there to help those in need at their worst moments in life.
As a scheme, we are almost entirely funded by donations from the general public. Without these donations, we would not be able to respond to 999 calls. Any money you donate will go towards maintaining our response vehicle and the equipment we carry to help save lives.
Keele Community First Responders is made up of students and members of the community, trained by West Midlands Ambulance Service to respond to 999 calls throughout the Keele University, Keele, Silverdale, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Madeley and surrounding areas.
Keep following this fundraising page as I post regular updates on my training progress!
