Kim Drewes, Tumor Fight

After years of fighting, Kim is now battling her brain tumor again. It is growing at a rapid rate and desperately requires treatment. She has been told she either needs to travel to receive a second opinion in Boston, or to spend three weeks minimum in radiation therapy due to her urgent need for treatment. Kim refuses to stop working in the mean time, not only because of her students, but because she knows she will need all the financial help she can get during this difficult process. She has used all of her sick days in the hospital, and knows the expenses in Boston will be very high if that route is chosen. In contrast, her three week treatment and living costs in Chicago would also be costly. At this rate, her family will endure extreme financial distress for whichever course of treatment that they choose. With travel, accomedations, and treatment costs, Kim and her family are truly in need of financial support.
