Kaitlyn's Gift to the Homeless Kids

Donation protected
For those of you that do not know us, my name is Tim, my wife's name is Jennifer and my daughters name is Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn is 10 years old and her story has already brought so much happiness to others that the local newspaper decided to interview her and feature her story in their paper next week.
3 years ago 1 of her friends family had to move into the homeless shelter right before Christmas and the little girl was telling Kaitlyn she was sad because since there were so many kids there they only got 1 gift each. So she came home and asked if they could have a sleepover so her friend could get more gifts from Santa. We allowed her to and the next day they opened gifts together and the mother came up and opened gifts and ate dinner with us as well.
Last year, a guy I work with approached me and told me he had to kids a little younger than my daughter and a newborn but could not afford to provide Christmas for them so I told him I'd see what I could do. Kaitlyn ended up donating half of her toys and some clothes along with her prized Wii gaming system.
This year she outdone herself. She wanted to raise money for the kids at the local homeless shelter but also wanted to donate half of what she raised to the Humane Society and asked for ideas. Since you can't buy real Mistletoe in Boone I told her how I used to sell it when I was her age to make extra Christmas money so she asked if I could teach her how to do it. We went about an hour away to a lower elevation where the mistletoe grows, knocked on doors and told people what we were doing and asked if we could climb their trees to collect some of their mistletoe. After gathering everything we had to go to Michaels to get the supplies we needed and while we were standing in line a lady noticed I was holding the letter D in my hand and said it caught her eye because her daughters name is Dawn. So I explained that this D was special because my daughter was making a mistletoe ball for a lady I work with who's son just passed away and the rest of the money was going to be donated. The lady starting crying and said that she taught school for 30 years and it's kids like her that go on to do special things in their lives.
Kaitlyns story is even more special because we are not well off. She does not have everything she wants yet she worries more about other kids having a good Christmas rather than herself. So if you can afford to help her reach her goal it would be greatly appreciated and if you live near us let me know and we will send you 1 of the mistletoe ornaments she came up with. Thank You and Merry Christmas.
