Let’s Help Karen Bethany While She Recovers

Donation protected

What started as a simple trip to the doctor for shoulder and rib pain ended up being so much more. Wednesday, October 6th, Karen was diagnosed with pneumonia and was to return for a checkup on the 8th. During the checkup, it was determined that the size of the pneumonia had doubled in size since the previous visit on Wednesday and Karen was admitted into Anderson’s Hospital. Karen’s situation was much worse than anyone expected.  She has a softball size abscess on her lower right lung, she was septic and in renal failure at the time of admission.  After many visits from many doctors, it was mentioned that the lungs may need to be drained to rid them of the abscess. Karen was on very strong antibiotics by IV and they definitely helped but the X-rays haven’t shown any improvement—it hasn’t gotten worse but hasn’t improved. Karen was finally released from the hospital on Wednesday, October 13th no longer septic and her kidneys have completely recovered.

Karen was sent home with many medications including breathing treatments. She still has a very long road ahead of her to a complete recovery. She will see the lung doctor on October 25th for a follow up to determine if there’s any improvement and if the drainage will still be necessary.

Any help even if it’s prayers will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Angela
