Dear friends, family, and kind strangers,

Today, we are reaching out on behalf of someone who embodies love, kindness, and resilience—our dear Karmen. She is a devoted mother, a loyal friend, and a beautiful soul who ALWAYS has a positive spirit (even in staffing and that’s a feat). But now, Karmen needs our help.

Recently our world was shaken when Karmen was diagnosed with metastatic stage 4 colon cancer. The words alone are heartbreaking, but anyone who knows Karmen knows that she is a fighter with a positive spirit. Despite the gravity of this diagnosis, her first thought was her family—how this would affect her baby girl, her loved ones (even her team at work) and how she could continue being the strong, loving mother that she has always been.

Karmen’s love for her family knows no bounds. She is the kind of mother who makes every day brighter, who fills her home with laughter, and who puts her heart and soul into everything she does for her daughter. Whether it’s staying up late to help with homework, accompanying her to all her modeling shoots, or simply being there with open arms, Karmen’s presence is a source of warmth and security for her family.

Now, as she prepares for her upcoming surgery and starting chemotherapy in just a few weeks, Karmen is facing one of the toughest battles of her life. The road ahead is uncertain, filled with difficult treatments, doctor visits, and physical challenges. As anyone who has faced a battle with cancer knows, this journey not only takes an emotional toll but a financial one as well. She didn’t want this. I was adamant she did this so she could focus on the road ahead of her and not have it compounded by the worry of how she would pay her bills.
