My name is Pete and I am Katelyn Ross' dad. Katelyn is a sophomore at Eureka Springs High School a nd is a very promising college golfer. As a freshman, Katelyn was all conference and all state. This sophomore season Katelyn took 2nd at districts, missing 1st place by 1 stroke. She took third at state as an individual. She then qualified for the ASGA Overall Championship Tournament, featuring the top 21 girls in the state of Arkansas. She also competed in the Jr PGA of North West Arkansas, finishing third in her division sending her to state. She then placed fourth missing regionals by two strokes. So as you can see she has a great opportunity for scholarships to very reputable colleges. While her career is promising, her sport is expensive. As a disabled veteran, I have limited funding and my wife and I would be very greatful for your help.
This year she will again, be in the Jr PGA , but she is required to play two day tournaments in order to establish a handicap, so we have entered her into the Jr PGA Players Tour. This takes us all over the regions of OK, KS, and AR. This is required so that she can qualify to play the tournaments that the college coaches follow and require in order to qualify for scholorships. Tournaments cost $125 to $150 per tournament and this is not including gas, food, and lodging for these over night tournaments. Still excluding the need for equipment and coaching to be sure she has an equal opportunity with others in her sport. This will continue over the next two years of her high school career. Her goal is to earn the scholorship to pay for her college degree in sports medicine.
As a man who provides for his family, I am humbled to do this, but as a father I am obliged to help her in any way I can. We appreciate all of your support in helping Katelyn reach her goals and greatest potential, through golf, and aspirations in obtaining a college degree. We pray that in return, your kindness will also be blessed.
