Help Katende and his siblings
Donation protected
Meet Katende Basa, a resilient 17-year-old from the slums of Uganda, who has faced the harsh realities of life head-on. Having lost his mother to breast cancer and his father in military service, Katende shoulders the responsibility of caring for his younger sister and two brothers, Melissa, George and Alvin.
Despite his unwavering determination, Katende battles epilepsy, which makes it challenging for him to secure a steady job in his small town. Together with his siblings, they navigate each day by begging for food and money, struggling to make ends meet.
After speaking with Katende, I found his story compelling and his circumstances dire. He explained to me that he has his mother's phone and gets free Wi-Fi at a nearby town. With work opportunities scarce, I helped him find a way to provide for his siblings using the power of social media and the kindness of others.
This GoFundMe account is sponsored by me, Daniel Zagayer (@Dzagayer), a photographer and filmmaker for Discovery Channel and Nat Geo. As part of my mission to help those less fortunate, I vow to pass 100% of your donations directly to Katende and his siblings. I'll also keep you updated on their day-to-day lives. Anything helps! THANK YOU!
Your support can be the beacon of hope that transforms Kadende's life. By contributing to this fundraiser, you are not just offering financial aid but also empowering a young individual to break free from the cycle of poverty, giving him and his siblings a chance at a brighter future.
Let's come together to make a lasting impact on Katende's life and create a ripple effect of positive change for his family. Your generosity can be the catalyst that turns their story of hardship into one of resilience and triumph.
