Kathryne's Open Heart Surgery Fund

Hello friends and family of Kathryne (Cousins) Mullenix. My name is LoriAnn (Cousins) Holmes, I am Kathryne’s aunt. Many of you know that Kathryne will be having OPEN HEART SURGERY on November 30, 2016 at Oklahoma University Children's Hospital in Oklahoma City.
A few months ago Kathryne had an extensive heart catheter and ablations done (10 hours) where the doctors found she would need open heart surgery.
Kathryne is a vibrant, loving life 27 yrs old and is an LPN. She and Brad have been married for 3 yrs. They live in Edmond, OK with their 3 adorable dogs.
At 4 months of age Kathryne was diagnosed with congenital heart disease. She has a single ventricle and the anatomy of her heart is much different than most people. Before the age of 3, she underwent 4 open heart surgeries and she was known as the miracle baby. The mere fact that she lived for 4 months without anyone knowing of her heart condition is nothing less than miraculous. What an amazing God we serve!
On November 30, 2016 Kathryne will have open heart surgery. The surgeon will be replacing her shunt (that she received as an infant), slightly relocating her IVC (inferior vena cava) into her pulmonary artery, fixing the widening of her SVC (superior vena cava) and placing epicardial pacemaker wires (should she need them in the future). While this is a big operation, our trust rests in the everlasting God that saved her life almost 28 years ago.
We are trusting for God’s protection and direction.
From Kathryne: ‘I would be lying if I said I wasn't scared, but again, God is ALWAYS in control. If nothing else, I pray God's name will be glorified through this process. I pray someone (maybe the parents of a child with congenital heart disease) will be encouraged to look no farther than our Heavenly Father for comfort, peace, and strength for the road that lies ahead. ‘

· I started this GoFundMe page in hopes to raise money to help Kathryne & Brad pay for her mounting medical expenses related to her congenital heart disease.
· The out of pocket cost for her recent heart ablation is over $10,000 . We have no idea how much the out of pocket costs for surgery, lost wages and etc. costs will be for her open heart surgery. She will be out of work at least 8-10 weeks.
