Kathy's Journey to Move Forward

My name is Kathy. Thank you for your interest in joining me as I journey to move forward. In my adult life, I have struggled with being morbidly obese. I was 568 pounds at one point. Shedding weight has been essential for continued health. I have lost hundreds of pounds over many years. As I have lost weight, the problem of excess skin has become life threatening. Excess skin that hangs down from my legs interferes with mobility. Skin around my upper torso is also not firm and debilitating. I experience a great deal of pain when walking and difficulty with balance. I have seen three surgeons who all urge me to undergo medically necessary surgery to remove this excess skin. They are very concerned for my continued health if I do not undergo surgery. The surgery is scheduled to be done at the University of Wisconsin - Madison Hospital in late October.
