Kayi Apelete Funeral Expenses

Hello, We are requesting help to help raise funds to send our mother home to West Africa so she can be buried with her husband and family. My Mother came to America as a refugee in 2008. To be with her children Koffi Amoussou, Charlotte Amoussou, and Valentino Yao S-D-.

My mother Kayi was born in French Togoland in the city of Lome, what is now known as Togo. Kayi's parents were killed in the civil war in Togo. Due to the war, she became refugee and escaped to Benin In 1993. She lived in a refugee camp from 1993-2008 where she witnessed many atrocities in 2008 she came to the United States .

Kayi became ill in 2014 and the doctors thought she might pass away. Kayi was a strong woman and recovered from her illness. To gain her Us Citizenship in 2015. Kayi always wanted to return home to Africa. In 2017 she had plans to return but unfortunately, she suffered a stroke after falling and becoming paralyzed and those plans were delayed. Kayi was placed in a nursing home and encouraged to go to hospice. Her wish was to die in Africa so she healed herself and returned to live with her daughter Charlotte Amoussou in Meridian Idaho. After gaining her health back, Kayi made arrangements to return home to Africa However the Covid-19 Pandemic started and she never made it home.

In November of 2022, Kayi suffered another severe stroke. She was admitted to St. Lukes Hospital in Boise Idaho Where the doctors said she had one week to live and the family should start making funeral arrangements however being the Resilient woman she was and still clinging to the dream of going to back to Africa she fought until he death , Kayi lived until 7/22/2023

Our mother was a woman that fought for her life from childhood, nothing was ever given to her nor was her life an easy one. Please help us return a part of Africa back to Africa

Our family just wants to honor her final wishes and get our mother back to home the Money will be spent on funeral arrangements and transportation to get her home.
