Send Kayley to Junior Nationals 2024

Donation protected
Sheridan High Schools sophomore Kayley Alicke has qualified for the US Ski and Snowboard Cross Country Junior National Championship held in Lake Placid, New York in March! Qualifying for Junior Nationals is a huge honor that has taken years of training and practice both in and out of the Nordic season. Kayley will join 19 qualified skiers from Wyoming and Montana to make up the High Plains Nordic Team.

Adding some context, Kayley's journey into skiing commenced just three years ago during middle school, stemming from a background in running. Despite her relatively short time in the sport, her commitment and rapid progress have been evident. Within her inaugural year of high school racing, Kayley advanced from mid-field placements to clinching a remarkable 4th place at the WY state championship skate race. During the recent off-season, she embraced roller skiing and maintains a rigorous year-round training regimen to hone her skills. Throughout the 2023-24 winter season, Kayley has consistently showcased her prowess, achieving podium finishes in five distinct races and currently ranking 3rd in Wyoming's All State rankings. Her aspirations extend beyond these accomplishments, aiming to establish herself as one of the premier US junior skiers and ultimately secure a collegiate Nordic scholarship upon her high school graduation in 2026.

Kayley is the first athlete from Sheridan to qualify for Junior Nationals.
