Help for Kevin’s next surgery

Hello, we are Kevin & Amanda Wegner and we are raising funds to help us support our family through Kevin’s toe amputation surgery and now his kidney surgery.

Due to his diabetes and other medical ailments, Kevin has been unable to maintain steady employment. Because of this his insurance lapsed in October and he has been without his diabetic medication. This caused a diabetic ulcer that he has been battling for 2 years to become infected and the infection traveled up his leg into his calf. The infection is fully in the bone now and even after many rounds of IV antibiotics, the doctors have decided amputation is the only way to possible save his foot and leg.

Because he just started a new job at Publix, he is not eligible for FMLA and will no longer be able to be employed by them.

I, Amanda, have had to take time off from my job to be able to drive our children to school and work and also be with Kevin during his procedures. This incorporated with the bills of his medication and physical therapy after his toe amputation has put us in financial distress.

Additionally, now Kevin has to have kidney surgery on both kidneys due to stones lodged in both his Kidneys and ureters. The surgery needs to be done ASAP. Kevin has applied once again for disability but has not received a determination.

Any help is appreciated. We know this time of year and this economy has strapped a lot of people and we would not be fundraising unless we are truly desperate
