Support Kevin's Independence

For those of you who may not know, Kevin Looney was in a severe motorcycle accident on July 3rd, 2011. The accident put him in a coma for 27 days, along with a T5 spinal cord injury as well as a TBI (traumatic brain injury) plus numerous other problems. This resulted in Kevin becoming a paraplegic with limited use of his left arm along with having speech issues. Two weeks prior to the Kevin’s accident, he had just graduated from Mass. Maritime Academy. Kevin has always had a tremendously strong work ethic and with his tenacity has been pushing himself through his therapies.

Kevin has come a long way since the accident working on his strength and muscle development 5 to 6 days a week at Journey Forward in Canton, MA / Quincy YMCA / Mass Rehab/Spaulding Rehab in Charlestown, MA. His rountine for recovery consist of tutoring, speech classes, free weight lifting, FES biking, rowing, nu step, standing frame, archery, snowboarding,  and golf. Currently Kevin has a PCA driving him to and from his rehab facilities in a 2003 van with 150k miles. When Kevin saw this truck (below) at the Boston expo center he realized this is actually what he needed to help achieve his independence and future development. Kevin would also like to be able to find a job where he can utilize his college degree.
