Killeevan National School Development Fund Celebrating 50yrs

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the opening of Killeevan, National School at its current location in Gaurdhill Newbliss, To celebrate this momentous occasion, we invite you to join us on Saturday 28' September 2024, for a day of festivities. The celebrations will commence with a Mass at 3:00pm In Killeevan Chapel. Following the Mass, we will gather at the school, offering everyone the opportunity to walk through its doors once more and reminisce about their time spent within its walls. The evening will be filled with entertainment for all to enjoy, making it a memorable event for our entire community.

As we come together to celebrate 50 years of education in our community, we are reaching out to you with a heartfelt request. Our school, Killeevan National School, has been a cornerstone of our community, nurturing generations of students since it first opened its doors half a century ago. To mark this significant milestone, we are launching a GoFundMe campaign to raise much-needed funds for essential building developments and necessary retrofits. We are hoping to raise over €25,000, which will go exclusively towards a development fund to complete essential improvements at the school.

The building has not undergone significant internal renovations since it was established, and it is now time to invest in its future. We appeal to all past pupils both near and far, to families, and to all members of the community to assist us in this endeavour and to give as generously as you can to this fundraising initiative. Your support will ensure that Killeevan National School remains a safe, comfortable, and inspiring place for future generations of students.

We are also planning a publication to commemorate this special event. If you would like to submit a poem, a recollection, or a collection of pictures for inclusion in this Jubilee publication, we would be delighted, you can speak to a committee member re: your contribution.
