Kisampa Conservation Fund
Donation protected
As Mwalimu (teacher) Julius K. Nyerere said in his Arusha Manifesto, 1961:
‘The conservation of wildlife and wild places calls for specialist knowledge, trained manpower and money, and we look to other nations to cooperate with us in this important task - the success or failure of which not only affects the continent of Africa but the rest of the world as well.’
First of all we would like to thank everyone who has supported Kisampa in the past; whether that be by sharing our important message, contributions by cash donations, hands on work helping our team on the ground or simply coming to visit and seeing the effects of our ongoing conservation efforts.
The key part of Kisampa is that it was set up to be a long-term project, working towards a long term solution to problems like human wildlife conflict, loss of vital natural habitat by illegal logging of trees and poaching. Conserving Kisampa requires a stream of ongoing support, both in the form of feet on the ground and donations, to be able to function and support everyone involved with the protection of the conservancy.
We are very thankful for the overwhelming support we received for our Care for Kisampa during Covid-19 fundraiser but we are still in desperate need of ongoing funding to continue working towards our goals.
Some of our current projects include:
-Kisampa Carbon Zero: A project aiming to protect and expand natural habitats that act as carbon sinks and provide suitable environments for wildlife.
-Secure new leases for the land on the outer boundaries of Kisampa to increase the area of land we can protect; providing and protecting vital corridors for wildlife to move in and out of the conservancy.
-Kisampa Bee Keeping: with a goal to develop an environmentally friendly business enterprise that supplements community members incomes whilst protecting and utilizing natural habitat sustainably.
-Beginning of the Kisampa K9 unit: after the rescue of Fisi, a stray puppy that found her way to the conservation camp, we aim to train her to be an anti poaching dog to accompany the patrols. If all goes well she could be the beginning of the Kisampa K9 unit.

We require ongoing funding for:
-community development projects through Tuende Pamoja
-staff salaries (about 2800$ per month)
-the staff food fund: to pay for all the food for on-site staff
-paying the concession fees (470$ per month)
-replacing equipment (eg. camera traps, staff uniforms, repairs of anti poaching vehicles)
Lastly, we want to emphasize that we understand that these times are proving challenging for everyone. Donating is not the only way you can make a difference! If you are able to share our message and tell your friends to do the same, we will be able to reach many more people; showing them the importance of Kisampa’s ongoing conservation efforts. Donations are in Australian dollars (AUD).
On behalf of the whole Kisampa team, Asante Sana!
