A Calling to Traditional/Indigenous Healing, BirthWork, & Midwifery...
Currently, I am halfway through my graduate program in Traditional Chinese Medicine to be a licensced acupuncturist, herbalist, and Primary Care Physician. Most recently, I have completed training  with Sumi’s Touch and am now supporting clients as a BirthWorker. The next step is to continue pursuing the admission prerequisites for Certified Professional Midwifery programs. All these programs come with a significant financial cost, several of which are not covered by financial aid/student loans. 

There is a horrifying and preventable national health crisis that disproportionately affects the Black community: Black/African American birthing people are 3-4x more likely than their white counterparts to die while giving birth, and Black/African American babies are 2-3x more likely to die before reaching their first birthday.

I am committed to serving and advocating for birthing persons of color as they bring their babies earth-side and throughout postpartum, including lactation and body feeding. 

So I turn to you/the community to humbly ask for your support to become a Black Midwife. Any and all donations, no matter how great or how small, are truly appreciated and affirm my purpose. Embracing the sacred call to birthwork and midwifery through traditional healing and medicines.

Approximate Breakdown of Total Cost to prepare and attend: 
1. Sumi’s Touch Full Spectrum Doula Training: $1,200 ....completed summer 2021
2.  Lactaction Education + Counseling Certification Courses:  $550
             -BreastFeedLA CLE 45 hours.....completed fall '21
3. Placenta Herbal Preparation + Encapsulation Training : $280  .... completed fall '21
4. IBCLC/E Certification Courses : $1600~
              -Pathway 3: Clinical Hours : $600-1000
               -Internationally Certified Lactaction Exams:  approx $60

5. CA Medical Board approved Certified Professional Midwifery (CPM) Program: $18,000-$35,000         
                  *includes tuition, preceptorships, and school fees
6. Estimated Textbooks + Supplies cost: $3,000
7. NARM Exam Certification:  $1,100-$1,600
              -National Association of Registered Midwives
8. California Medical Board State Licensure:  $350
9. Admission Application Fees: $225- $390
             -I will be applying in this coming fall for enrollment admittance of spring '23.
            -seriously considering five different programs, have narrowed it down to 3 academic institutions .
