Hi, My name is Rebecca I'm asking for help to purchase a device to help me walk due to my MS. It is called the L300 Go System.
The L300 Go system uses functional electrical stimulation (FES) to help correct foot drop and thigh weakness in people coping with the effects of stroke, multiple sclerosis, and other medical conditions.
The device detects gait irregularities and then deploys FES to the weakened or paralyzed limb so users can lift their feet correctly when walking. Since I walk with canes or a rolling walker, it is difficult to look up when walking. This device would help me walk better, not drag my foot, extend my leg and look up while walking.
- I am trying to raise $5,600 for the device for my left leg since the nerves in it are worse/more numb than in my left leg. I have both foot and toe drop in my left leg and toe caused by lesions or scar tissue in my spine. This makes it difficult to raise my foot and toes when I walk. My foot drags, causing me to trip easily. This has become significantly worse in the last year. I am trying to remain independent for as long as possible.
- I have met with a representative from the company and tried the device. It helped me significantly, and when I first stood, walked and took stairs with began to cry tears of joy and thanking God.
