Hometown Hero Project

Hello, My name is John, A Long Island native with a mission. Today I am representing a local veteran and his family whose home is in desperate need a of a roof.
I was recently contacted by a Blue Star mom who had come across a disabled veterans family who required a trusted source of information regarding roof repairs. Upon contacting the homeowner I was able to quickly determine, this is more than just a repair and their financial means were more than just limited, they were nearly non-existent. I decided to take a closer look, so I could determine what of if anything could be done. Unfortunately, as I suspected, the roof is just the tip of an ice-burg I've scaled before. The home was previously owned by a veteran and it has been subject to many "affordable" repairs.
This is a family of five, Our veteran served three tours and survived his Humvee having been exploded by an IED. He's now transitioning to fully disabled. Managing his physical and mental health has become full-time job in themselves. There are also three children ranging from 1 year to 12 years as well as one devoted wife and mother whose days are filled taking care of them all. They live in a very modest house in a very modest neighborhood and their extended family also serves our community in essential & self sacrificing positions.
In addition to having been a contractor for many years I also happen to Admin a local Facebook group/ page and website known as Contractors RoundTable (www.contractorsrt.com).
I shared the story in the group and within a very short while, as the discussion grew, we were ready to commit to a Contractors Roundtable Hometown Hero project. We have a small army of contractors from every trade willing to do the work, but we need help as we can't afford to purchase the materials, if you could help us purchase the materials, we will do the work.
Through our Blue Star moms we were also able to establish an arrangement with The Fairway Foundation, a NY, veteran-approved, 5013c, which has agreed to purchase materials with funds collected through the charity. In order to keep everything in compliance, they generously agreed to commit 100% of the donations towards the materials. If you can and are willing to help you can either donate here, which will go directly to the family or you can receive the tax credit by visiting WWW.CONTRACTORSRT.COM and donating through the Fairway foundation links.
We have a real opportunity to help one of our soldiers & neighbors. Thank you for reading this and for anything you can do!
