Support farmworkers affected by floods

Flood Relief for Farmworkers:
The Watsonville Campesino Appreciation Caravan has been supporting local farm workers since the onset of the pandemic. As of this morning, March 17, 2023, we had raised $39,875 thru this gofundme. That amount and more has been distributed during our pandemic efforts. We have now changed our goal to $100,000 to be able to support campesinos impacted by the recent floods. Many will have no homes or jobs to return to. We must continue to provide support.
Consider making a donation to WCAC.
We know that farm workers are essential to our livelihood, please help us support them in this time of need.
Thank you ♥️
The Watsonville Campesino Appreciation Caravan formed in April 2020 to show farmworkers our gratitude and to provide important health information. As of March 23, 2021, our team has raised and distributed $32,660 through this GoFundMe campaign. Every penny of the funds raised (minus the required gofundme fees) has gone directly to local farmworkers and their families. While we are extremely proud of this, we also know that families are currently struggling even more given the winter harvest slowdown and the scarcity of jobs. For this reason we are increasing our fundraising goal.
While many of us have been fortunate to be sheltering in place, farmworkers have risked their health and faced incredibly high rates of Covid infection by continuing their essential work. Many farmworkers do not qualify for stimulus checks or any other type of public support. Thanks to the loving generosity of our donors we have been able to provide thousands of farmworkers and their families:
-care packages with PPE, cleaning products, and items requested by farmworkers;
-gift/cash cards to local Latinx owned businesses;
-information about Covid-19 protection and safety, legal rights and community resources for local food distributions, medical assistance, financial assistance;
-appreciation lunches donated or purchased from local Latinx businesses;
-books and school supplies for various ages in both Spanish and English;
-TV and radio PSAs in Spanish, English and Mixteco focusing on vital health and travel information.
The Watsonville Campesino Appreciation Caravan will therefore continue to provide support to farmworkers. Any amount you can donate will be valued and appreciated.
