Lamont's Medical & Recovery Fund
Donation protected
I know that we normally ask for donations to help our companion animals but this request is a special one. As some of you already know, we have a part time Caretaker who need our help right now. His name is Lamont Smith. He was badly burned in a grease fire at his house last Friday night (08/21/2015). He did not immediately go to the hospital but by early Saturday morning it was evident that he would need serious medical care. He was in the ICU for three days as his body stabilized from the injury. His burns cover around 50% - 60% of his body. His right thigh has a large burn with smaller patches down the leg, his left leg is burned from top to bottom as well as all of his left arm. He has burns on half his chest and back with spots on his neck, face, hands, and feet.
He will not need skin grafts or surgeries so that is a good news but it will still be a long and painful recovery. His team at work headed by Drew McCausland is currently looking after him and making sure he is taking care of. Lamont was picked up by Drew at Barnes yesterday, 8/26/2015 and currently settled in his own home but he does have a long hard road ahead of him and we need your help to pay for his medications and recovery.
Your thoughts, prayers and love will go a long way to keeping his mood elevated.
The team created a Facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/936652439711176/ so you can get timely information about him.
