"In a nutshell...Since last summer, Lamont has been dealing with the aftermath of what was supposed to be “routine” gall bladder surgery. One doctor actually said that Lamont has had every complication possible. In January things took a turn for the worse when just hours after this 3rd ERCP procedure he developed severe acute pancreatitis. From there he went into septic shock with multiple organ failure, was sedated, intubated and transferred to Rochester General Hospital MICU in critical condition. About one week after he had been moved to another floor, he went septic again, this time going into cardiac arrest. He was re-intubated and back in the MICU. At the end of March he had surgery to remove his appendix and pancreas which had been destroyed by infection. After the surgery he spend 10 days in the surgery ICU, 5 of which he was intubated. He has been in recovery ever since. He has had multiple blood transfusions, CT scans and various other procedures. He has had speech, physical and occupation therapies. Currently he is on several antibiotics which cause him to be constantly nauseated and unable to eat. He is able to talk, write his name and sit up with assistance. He has come a long way but still has a long road ahead. Once released from the hospital he will be an another facility for extensive rehab. He will also be dependent on heavy medication for the rest of his life.
Lamont has been a loyal worker at AT&T for 28 years. Lamont has been an active and contributing member of the Salmon River Ice Hockey Association along with many other youth sporting clubs. He is married with 4 children; one of which is getting married in October, two are college students, and the other one will be a senior in high school in the fall.
A donation of even a small amount would help ease some of the stress of medical bills, medication, travel costs and allow the family to concentrate on helping Lamont heal and come home! We appreciate the love and support from our dear friends and family who continue to support us through this very difficult time."
