Lebanon in need: support the Lebanese Red Cross
Your funds are being collected by the British Red Cross who will ensure that every penny donated is transferred in full and directly to the Lebanese Red Cross. This fundraiser has been approved for the EBRD Community Initiative, which will match each penny 1:1.
On 4 August 2020, Beirut experienced two enormous explosions, causing massive destruction across the city. Many people died, over 300,000 people lost their homes and more than 6,000 were injured.
LRC is a non-profit organisation run by volunteers. LRC is the main provider of emergency, medical and ambulance (EMA) services in Lebanon, a country that lacks reliable and coordinated EMA public service provision. LRC responds to more than 140,000 emergencies and patient transports per year - a number that has been significantly increased during times of social unrest, COVID-19 and the massive 4 August explosion.
LRC's services are provided free of charge. Unfortunately, due to limited funds, they are either late to or cannot respond to 1 emergency call out of 5! Any donation will help the LRC reach more people in need.
Every donation, however small, is needed and we would like to thank you all in advance for your support!
