Let’s Promote Family-Owned Restaurants
Hi, My Name is Halim, I own and operate Village Food Tours, a walking food tour company that has locations in the Cocoa Beach area. Growing up and working on the Space Coast, I have created friendships with over 50 family-owned restaurants. My mission is to promote small businesses while connecting both visitors and locals through the universal language of food.
The pandemic gave us all some time to pause, learn and discover new skills. One thing I finally had the time to learn was how to create and edit videos. In addition to keeping the Village Food Tours business-relevant, I have been making videos featuring restaurants, food trucks, and well anything food & travel-related.
As you could imagine having a tour company that visits restaurants indoors has not been easy over the past year. Knowing what my friends (our restaurant partners) were going through with the pandemic I was determined to help in any way that I could.
From getting online ordering systems setup, helping with ads, websites, etc I even built an online directory with over 150 restaurants that were still offering take-out when we were in lockdown. Whatever I could do with the skills I had to help I offered free of charge.
As things have opened up I started focusing more on blog posts and videos as I have a gift for creating content that the audience engages with. I receive at least one call a week from business owners thanking me. The videos/posts I make are bringing them, customers, helping them reach new people. That to me is what it is all about, supporting the little businesses, doing things together. Always sticking with the concept of “It Takes A Village”
Having the ability to showcase small businesses and promote them through visual stories is something I enjoy. I am still learning but have developed a passion for this. Over the past year, I have been using my cell phone, for both editing and filming videos. I am a strong believer in learning as much as you can with the basics first. That being said I am ready to take it to the next level.
So what I am asking you for is a small gift so that I can upgrade my equipment from a cell phone to a camera, possibly add a drone, and even a laptop specifically for video editing. Any small amount leftover will be put towards advertising these videos through google ads, Facebook, and other methods of digital marketing. I can run these advertisements for as little as a dollar a day. So any gift no matter how small or big will help out so much!
I am going to document this journey, and show you everything that goes into making these videos that will help promote these small businesses. This is a passion project, to shine a light on those that need it. Even if you cannot help financially be sure to follow this journey as every view, play like & share is valued.
