Dear friends,

We are reaching out for a heartfelt mission. We ask for support for something beautiful that is currently unfolding in south-west of Portugal: The Wild Roots Kids Project. In this project we are creating a space where children can truly be themselves, explore their uniqueness, and grow with nature. It’s a place where learning is about much more than academics; it is about being connected to themselves and the world around them.

We are still in the early stages of this dream, however a strong foundation has already been laid. We put up a big tent on a beautiful eco-farm project, welcoming 12 amazing children who are growing, connecting, and learning together. It’s an inspiring start. Our Vision

The mission of Wild Roots is simple but powerful: To create a safe, loving, and nurturing space for children to thrive in, connected to themselves, each other, and the earth. We believe in giving children the opportunity to grow in a way that honors their individual strengths, creativity, and emotional well-being while preparing them for adulthood.

We offer an environment where kids have the space to play, explore, and express themselves fully, with the guidance of our incredible facilitators. Exchanging with other nature based learning projects is a great network of support as well as our own unique experiences of our previous project.

For the future we envision an eco-village around the project with families at the core, and other role models around to guide our children together in a truly supportive way. And, we take it step by step, focussing on the kids project to begin with and looking at what is needed now :)..

What We Need Your Help With

Currently parents pay a monthly contribution per child to cover basic costs. However this is not sufficient in order to deliver the quality that we aim for and the investments we need for the start-up phase. To move forward and expand, we are raising € 26,000 to help us continue building this project for the children.

This is how we will use your help to develop the project:

Our Mid-Long-Term Dream

First and foremost the focus is on the growth of the kids project. There is so much to learn and grow in together, and this we want to nourish. We do also aim to grow in numbers. From 12 children now to eventually 30-40 children, gradually. This amount of children in a mixed aged (6-18) setting provides the most serving self-organizing atmosphere.

Part of our dream is also to build a community - both physically and online. We want to exchange and share our knowledge and experience about the kids project with others through an Online Platform. With this we aim to support and inspire other parents of home- and unschooling children, parents/facilitator/teachers that are aligned with the vision and other similar projects and communities around the world.

By asking for a small monthly membership fee on the Online Platform (starting from € 20,-), we will generate income in order for the project to become financially self-sustainable.

How You Can Support And Get Involved

Let’s get to the part where you can play an important role, because this project is about togetherness, and we'd love for you to be part of it! This can take different forms..

Our foremost call for action at the moment is raising donations. This helps us to develop the project and provide the basic needs for the children. So, really important stuff! If you feel hesitant about the money, every bit helps!

Liebe Freunde,

Wir wenden uns mit einer Herzensangelegenheit an euch. Wir bitten um Unterstützung für etwas Wunderschönes, das derzeit im Südwesten Portugals entsteht: das Wild Roots Kids Project. In diesem Projekt schaffen wir einen Raum, in dem Kinder wirklich sie selbst sein, ihre Einzigartigkeit entdecken und mit der Natur wachsen können. Es ist ein Ort, an dem Lernen weit über die Schulbildung hinausgeht – es geht darum, mit sich selbst und der Welt um sie herum verbunden zu sein.

Wir befinden uns noch in einer frühen Phase dieses Traums, aber eine starke Grundlage ist bereits gelegt. Wir haben ein großes Zelt auf einem wunderschönen Öko-Bauernhofprojekt errichtet und begrüßen 12 fantastische Kinder, die gemeinsam wachsen, sich verbinden und lernen. Es ist ein inspirierender Anfang. Schaut euch einen Moment lang das Projekt an und spürt die Magie selbst:

Unsere Vision

Die Mission von Wild Roots ist einfach, aber kraftvoll: Einen sicheren, liebevollen und fördernden Raum zu schaffen, in dem Kinder gedeihen können – verbunden mit sich selbst, miteinander und der Erde. Wir glauben daran, Kindern die Möglichkeit zu geben, auf eine Weise zu wachsen, die ihre individuellen Stärken, ihre Kreativität und ihr emotionales Wohlbefinden ehrt und sie gleichzeitig auf das Erwachsenenleben vorbereitet.

Wir bieten eine Umgebung, in der Kinder spielen, entdecken und sich vollständig ausdrücken können – mit der Unterstützung unserer inspirierenden Begleiter. Der Austausch mit anderen naturbasierten Lernprojekten ist ebenso eine wertvolle Ressource wie unsere eigenen Erfahrungen aus früheren Projekten.

In Zukunft träumen wir von einem Öko-Dorf rund um das Projekt, mit Familien im Zentrum und anderen Vorbildern, die gemeinsam mit uns die Kinder unterstützen. Doch wir gehen Schritt für Schritt vor und konzentrieren uns zunächst auf das Kinderprojekt und die aktuellen Bedürfnisse. :)

Wobei Wir Eure Hilfe Brauchen

Derzeit zahlen die Eltern einen monatlichen Beitrag pro Kind, um die Grundkosten zu decken. Dies reicht jedoch nicht aus, um die Qualität zu gewährleisten, die wir anstreben, und die Investitionen für die Startphase zu finanzieren. Um weiter voranzukommen und uns zu vergrößern, möchten wir 26.000 € sammeln, um das Projekt für die Kinder weiter aufzubauen.

So werden wir eure Hilfe verwenden:

- **Einrichtungskosten (1.000 €):** Formalisierung unserer Organisation und Verwaltungsstruktur für ein verantwortungsvolles Wachstum.

- **Bildungsmaterialien (5.000 €):** Bastelmaterialien, Lernhilfen und Werkzeuge für kreatives, praktisches Lernen sowie Bücher, Arbeitshefte, Computer usw.

- **Innenausstattung/Möbel/Küche (6.000 €):** Schaffung eines komfortablen, funktionalen Raums, in dem die Kinder lernen, essen und sich wie zu Hause fühlen können.

- **Online-Plattform (5.000 €):** Aufbau eines Netzwerks für gleichgesinnte Eltern und Betreuer, um Erfahrungen zu teilen, Fragen zu beantworten und die Bewegung weltweit zu fördern.

- **Teamunterstützung (5.000 €):** Unterstützung des Teams und der Organisatoren, die dieses Projekt ermöglichen, damit sie sich voll auf das Wachstum der Kinder konzentrieren können.

- **Lernen & Entwicklung (2.000 €):** Bereitstellung von Schulungen und Ressourcen zur kontinuierlichen Verbesserung unserer Methoden und unseres Teams.

- **Rechtliche Unterstützung (2.000 €):** Wir streben einen reibungslosen Übergang zu alternativen Bildungskonzepten an und benötigen rechtliche Beratung, um den Prozess zu unterstützen.

Unser Mittelfristiger Traum

Unser Hauptfokus liegt auf dem Wachstum des Kinderprojekts. Gemeinsam gibt es so viel zu lernen und zu entwickeln, und das wollen wir fördern. Langfristig wollen wir von derzeit 12 auf 30–40 Kinder anwachsen. Diese Anzahl in einer altersgemischten Gruppe (6–18 Jahre) bietet die beste Grundlage für eine selbstorganisierte Gemeinschaft.

Ein Teil unseres Traums ist es auch, eine Gemeinschaft – physisch und online – aufzubauen. Über die Online-Plattform möchten wir unser Wissen und unsere Erfahrungen mit anderen teilen, um Eltern von Heim- und Freilernkindern, Pädagogen und andere Projekte weltweit zu inspirieren.

Durch eine kleine monatliche Mitgliedsgebühr (ab 20 €) soll die Plattform zur finanziellen Nachhaltigkeit des Projekts beitragen.
