#LetsMaskNYC - Sewing Cloth Masks -Chip in today!

Hi, my name is Karen Chinchilla. I am a fashion designer and seamstress with a studio based in the heart of the Fashion District in NYC. Since the first week of March, due to the Coronavirus outbreak, my team and I have been dedicated full-time to making and donating cloth masks.

We have received generous donations in the form of fabric, elastic, equipment and funds to pay for shipping from a select group of people who were aware of our endeavors.

We are now broadening our reach to continue making reusable masks to put into the hands of those on the front lines, like healthcare workers and first responders. 

We are asking for donations in the form of fabric (tightly woven cotton, jersey tee, rolls of elastic, and sewing thread) as well as monetary donations for the purchase of these items as well as to pay for shipping.

Thank you very much for your generous donations. 100% of your donations will be used to making and donating masks. To date we have donated 1200 masks to the NYPD, The Plaza Nursing Home Center in the Bronx, Nurses at Elmhurst Hospital in Queens, NY and NYU Winthrop Long Island. And hopefully more to come!!!!
