Supporting Liam while having Proton

Donation protected
Hello Everyone

Once again thank you for taking the time to read our cause. We hope that we would not need to ask again but we are now asking you all to please dig deep again and to share our cause as we need further help now as Liam's situation has changed dramatically, please take just a moment to read his on going story:

Liam is a now 15 year old boy from Bracknell, Berkshire.
On 17th October 2014, when he was just 13, Liam was diagnosed with Low-grade glioma/suprasellar polocytic astrocytoma. He has undergone almost 2 years of chemo which unfortunately hasn't had any affect on the tumour. Liam was started on a new course of chemo 6 months ago, a different kind, Vinblastin, where he was upped to a round every week. They were hoping to shrink liams tumour to an acceptable size to be able to look into operating but unfortunately in this time the tumour has increased in size and Liam had to go an operation to re- situate the shunt in his brain as fluid was also building up around the still growing tumour. All chemo has now stopped and he has been referred by the NHS for the pioneering and life saving Proton Beam Therapy in America. Some of the costs of this essential life saving treatment will be covered by the NHS but many are not. Liam's treatments, flights, accomodation, and some meals will be covered as will his mums flights and accommodation be covered but all other living expenses will not be covered, including travel within America to and from the hospital and basic necessities
such as food. They are expected to spend 10 weeks living in America while this treatment takes place, for them to be able to go and to be able to afford to just live while there. We all know how much just a holiday of just a couple of weeks costs so you can just imagine how much 10 weeks of living will be. We urgently need to raise funds to make this possible and to give Liam the fighting chance that he and all of us in this situation deserve.

Liams mum, Mandy, had to unfortunately give up her job to become a full time carer for Liam. These past couple of years have been an emotional roller coaster for Liam and his family and they urgently need all the help and support we can muster.

I have the upmost respect for Liam, during this time Liam has kept a positive outlook and attitude towards all of this. He has been determined to still attend school and remains positive even in the face of adversity. He was nominated and won a pride of Bracknell award for raising money for Sebastian's even while struggling with illness himself, he really is a courageous strong young man who really does deserves the best shot that we can give him.

We really hope that you are all able to help no matter how big or small your donations and please share as sharing is definitely caring.
