Life for Brianna - Conquering Drug Addiction
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Jody Cameron, I am a father of two wonderful children, and grandfather to one amazing young boy. I live and work in Greater Sudbury.
This fund-raising request is for my daughter, Brianna, who once was a full of life young, smart, beautiful young lady with dreams and aspirations. She is a mother to a wonderful young boy who misses her dearly and she is just a beautiful person all around.
I say above "was" full of life because over the past decade her illness, first mental illness, now mental illness, and drug addiction is so severe that is has taken over her life.
She is now homeless, living on the streets doing ungodly things to raise money to feed her addiction. She may have a broken neck, another disease in her throat, and weighs about 80lbs. This once vibrant, beautiful, young woman, who is 32 years old, does not look 32 any longer, looks much older and is unrecognizable.

In Canada, since 2020, the number of deaths due to overdose is over 2,000 people a year. In Sudbury, on average, in the past three years, 136 people died from drug overdose. I do NOT want my daughter to be one of those statistics. This once vibrant, smart, beautiful young woman with so much potential is so sick, so frail that our family must intervene before she dies and becomes a statistic.
Unfortunately, the medical system in Ontario doesn't provide a lot of resources and assistance to help people that are in this situation. It is truly a shame that a country rich in social programs and supports does not provide greater assistance to the homeless and those facing the disease of drug addiction. These people are so easily passed over and any supports, which are limited, the red tape is so restrictive that it's no wonder that this is now an epidemic.
High success rate rehabilitation facilities that offer:
- Medical detox
- Extensive therapy with experts skilled at treating multiple co-occurring and complex mental illnesses
- Interventional psychiatry services
- Programs that will teach life skills and how to live a sober life
- Aftercare programs to ensure she is successful.
These facilities are available, with high success rates, but are costly.
The money raised through this campaign will be used exclusively to fund the treatment needed to save my daughter and get her back to being that vibrant, smart, beautiful person and mother to a young boy who desperately needs his mom.
Any donations not required will be donated back into the community to help those in similar situations. Maybe, post recovery, Brianna can assist and help others by maintaining this cause, and working with others that faced the same challenges she overcame.
I love my daughter so much and her family misses her so much. Thank you, thanks you, thank you for taking the time to read my daughters story and providing any assistance. I, my family and Brianna truly truly appreciate it.
PS: Some have asked if e-transfer is available. It is available.
