Linda Keenan's Cancer Healing Journey
Donation protected
Dear Beloved Community,
Our family has been processing the news of our mother's latest cancer diagnosis and the time has come to share it with our friends and family. Linda was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer just before Thanksgiving - a type that stems from the breast, in her case, it has traveled through the lymphatic system and has aggressively wrapped around her spine. Since early fall, she has broken 6 vertebrae and cracked 2 ribs from very basic movements including hugging a grandchild. She was just about to begin chemo therapy treatment when she had her last and most destructive fall where she was hospitalized for a week and had emergency back surgery to fuse the vertebrae together. The surgery went well and she is now safely home with a visiting nurse and has regained strength to walk around bit this unfortunately set her treatment back by over 2+ months.
She is working her way towards a stronger body so she can begin the chemotherapy treatment to address this aggressive cancer. Since she is so frail and her white blood cells are down they are suggesting she wait a little bit longer to gain as much strength as she can. She is also working with an integrative doctor to build her immune system so that her body can withstand the chemotherapy. We are calling on your abundance of love and support for this challenging time.
There are many ways our community can help. During the next few weeks while she is beginning her chemo treatment, the most pressing call to action would be to focus our collective thoughts and prayers towards successful treatment results. This assertive form of chemotherapy can be taken by pill form while Linda is at home for close to the next year. Please send your prayers towards the medicine and her medical care team working to successful shrink the cancer cells, please envision them unraveling and releasing from the spine, flushing them from her lymphatic system and releasing them from her body. Please envision Linda's complete healing.
We want Linda to be able to focus fully on her healing. The nature of our health care system places financial obstacles on patients during an already daunting life challenge. In addition, she was forced to leave her job as a nurse of 35 years, due to her autoimmune condition because of COVID-19. All financial contributions go directly to Linda to support her medical needs. One expense that is pressing is to install a chair for her to independently move up the stairs to her apartment. Due to her injuries and weakened immune system, she is unable to walk up her stairs by herself. Let's give Linda the support, love, and care she has given so many throughout her life as a nurse, mother and friend.
To know Linda is to adore her, her face always filled with loving kindness, and her words are always sweet and encouraging. She never hesitates to help a friend, or to care for those in need.
Nothing makes Linda happier than to be with her three grandchildren and to be of service to others. This is an opportunity for us to show Linda our gratitude for her unwavering love, kindness, and empathy she has shown so many.
This Go Fund Me page has been created to activate this vibrant and thriving family, friends and extended community to unite and contribute in any way possible. A mother, sister, partner, friend, active community member and nurse, Linda has helped so many people throughout the years with her nurturing. Let's do what we can to mobilize healing energy in her name at this time.
Support takes many forms. Aside from financial contributions, we greatly appreciate prayers in her name. Linda is a strong believer in the Christian Church, The Virgin Mary and all the Saints. We also appreciate your help sharing this link and spreading the word through social media and to hold her name in places of worship like your local church. Share her story and how she has touched your life in this thread. Let's lift Linda up by sharing the ways she has impacted us in our lives. She is a wonderful listener and a gentle, kind and loving soul. Linda has a way of caring for others that are especially less fortunate and has done so throughout her entire life. Let's show up for Linda in whatever way we can.
With Love, Hope and Sincere Gratitude.
