What’s Louis’ story ?

During Louis’ 20 week scan, the sonographer discovered something which would change Louis’ life. What he discovered was that little Louis had only half a heart. Due to this Louis’ parents had appointment after appointment and scan after scan, with each professional and doctor, at the hospital the scans where taken, suggested there was no other option other than termination. However Louis’ Mum and Dad did not want to do that and transferred to the Liverpool Womens hospital where they where much more supportive and gave advice on the situation if the parents went ahead.

January 3rd 2022 Louis was born at 8lb 2oz, which is a very good weight for a cardiac baby, and was kept at the Womens for two days until getting transferred to Alder Hey.

Whilst being at Alder Hey at the young age of 10 months old, Louis the gorgeous, brave little trooper has under gone 5 surgeries, two of which have been major open heart surgeries.

After his most recent surgery, which was the Glenn procedure, Louis is still in Alder Hey after going in on 28th September for his pre op and then going in on 29th September for his 8 hour operation. Louis is getting better and is on the mend.

However due to this Louis’ Mum cannot work and his Dad is working long shifts to whilst living in hospital.

We are trying to raise money for Louis’ needs and his future so that this gorgeous little trooper can be cherished and treated well.

Any donations are hugely appreciated and will go a long way. Louis’ Dad and uncles will also be completing the 3 peaks challenge in April next year in order to raise money for Louis.

The funds raised from our campaign will go straight to the parents of Louis Parker Smith. Louis’s mum is the main beneficiary of this fundraiser.

As Louis is not a ‘normal’ baby he costs a lot more as Louis’s parents have to have time of work due to his condition, buy certain things which ables Louis, which normal babies wouldn’t need etc. As young parents to this beautiful boy it is hard physically, mentally and financially caring for this young boy.

The money raised will go to the beneficiary, which is Ellie Atkinson, mum of Louis. The funds will go into her bank for her and dad to help support Louis in his current and future days.
