Let's buy a leg!!

Hello all! My name is Max Gomez. I was born and raised in New Rochelle, NY but moved to Belmar, NJ in 2015.

I've had a love for fitness my whole life and was always an athlete growing up. When I was 18 years old, I was in a severe motocross accident that cost me right leg from below the knee down.

Fast forward to 2024, I opened up 2 gyms in the Jersey Shore area called AMP'D Fitness (I'm an amputee so the name seemed fitting! lol). I love my job tremendously and since I've opened the gym, I like to say I haven't considered myself to have worked a day since.

Towards the end of 2023, a friend of mine AmyMarie Deluca found her way into my gym. "Luca" as I call her, is very unique in the fact that she also is an amputee. Now in terms of amputees, she is above the knee which is a vastly different circumstance than mine. Nevertheless, she felt at home at the gym. We were even able to build some muscle and have her feeling much more comfortable throughout her daily life.

Fortunately but also unfortunately, Luca is now due for a new leg. She says she's been due for a new one for a while and I can tell you from experience that is an awful feeling. Imagine being a size 10 shoe but wearing a size 5 for years, now imagine 100x the pain and discomfort of that. That's what she's dealing with.

She is thankfully now getting fitted for her new leg but as you can imagine, these legs are not cheap. I have decided to put together a GoFundMe in hopes of being able to lessen some of her financial burden.

My plan is to host a Fundraiser event for her on Saturday, April 13th from 8am-11am in AMP'D Belmar. There will be workouts, events, vendors, prizes, and T-shirts with all proceeds going to her.

It is with great passion that I ask all of you to come together and help Luca out. She is part of the AMP'D family and honestly more on brand for AMP'D than even myself.
