In 2005, Medals4Mettle was founded by a doctor named Steven Isenberg, a marathon runner, businessman and an ear, nose and throat physician. His practice was to give his marathon finisher medals to his patients - and this gifting has been continued by other marathon runners who award their finisher’s medals to others who have demonstrated similar mettle, or courage.
Since we started the Orlando chapter in 2013 we have presented medals to the most incredible children battling serious illnesses & disabilities with courage and smiles! In the first two years, we have been very privileged to partner withNemours Children's Hospital, Give Kids the World, Base Camp Children's Cancer Foundation, UCP (Cerebral Palsy) Central Florida and other local charities and foundations.
We need your help! Each local chapter has to be "self supporting" - our biggest expense is the M4M ribbons we have to buy from the national organization to attach to the donated medals. At $2.50 each it doesn't seem a lot of money but some of the group events we present over 250 medals at one time, that's $ 625!!
We also have to buy T shirts for volunteers to wear at events, and pay for all our own printing and promotional material. Our dream is to have all the equipment we need to set up medal collection tents at the end of races & have colorful donation boxes at local running stores. Any money donated that exceeds our goal will go towards awarding even MORE medals to kids in the area at summer camps, school events etc.

Donations, personal or through your company - and all are tax deductible! You can donate online or through check and cash. All amounts, large & small are going to be used 100% for this charity. Just think, even $5 will buy 2 medal ribbons and make two children VERY happy!
