Athletic Program

Mott Hall Charter School is a small school in the South Bronx. While our community is underfunded, our scholars are a group of brilliant, hardworking young people, who deserve every opportunity to succeed in life and beyond. As a South Bronx Native, I understand the importance of supporting our scholars in all of their endeavors.

This year, our school has a total of eight sports for our scholars. The idea is that sports programs help promote health, education and diplomacy. Communities like ours very rarely are allowed to nurture our Scholar Athletes. Mott Hall Charter School has made every effort to support our Scholar Athletes.

Our two oldest sports, Basketball and Softball, boast former Scholar Athletes such as Maurice "Moe" Odum ('18) - at the University of the Pacific, Chris Riley ('18) - at Seton Hall University, and Samara Morales ('19) - 3rd Baseman/Catcher who attended MLB All-Star Weekend as part of the Jennie Finch Tournament in 2022. Our current scholar-athletes have been accepted to high schools such as Mount Saint Michael, Cardinal Hayes, and University Heights.

Our goal is to continue to support our scholar-athletes. We want to encourage them to become the best version of themselves, both academically and athletically. They are looking forward to playing this season, but cannot do it without your help. We ask that you make a small donation to assist us in meeting our funding goals.
