MacNeil family fire

So - you never really think about the impact of a fire til it hits home...literally. This gofundme is to raise money for my brother‘s family, especially my niece whose room the fire started in this past Wednesday.

Losing all of your makeup, shoes, jewelry, summer and winter clothing, bedding, mattress, hair stuff, electronics…everything that you’re the owner of as a 25-year-old woman is devastating. Hoping to help her recoup the cost of replacing at least some of her stuff so she can continue working and going to college part-time. The entire house has smoke damage, so of course everybody in the family needs a little bit of help - did you know you can’t eat any of the food you had in the house after a fire like this because of high temperatures? Every fabric covered thing is wrecked. The windows had to be broken to bring through the fire hoses which means even the TV and living room stuff took water damage and is all ruined. These guys are still in the stage where they’re grateful to be alive, but thinking ahead to when they start getting back to life, they literally need everything. Side note to all of you renters - get insurance now - it certainly sucks not to have it in a situation like this.

Since the fire somehow (maybe a faulty power strip - it’s still under investigation) originated in her bedroom her room is a total loss, as seen in the picture above. Anything you can do to help would be greatly appreciated. 

 Special shout out to Boston Fire Department for their crazy fast response time and containment of the fire to just her room on a entire street full of triple decker houses!
