London Marathon 2023
I'm raising money in aid of the Mental Health Foundation, and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for contributing to this cause; that means so much to me.
Approximately 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health problem each year. In England, 1 in 6 people report experiencing a common mental health problem (such as anxiety and depression) in any given week. Whether this is you, a family member or a friend, the Mental Health Foundation can make a difference.
Since being a young girl, I have suffered from Body Dysmorphia and Anxiety. This has affected me heavily throughout my teenage years, leading to confidence issues and disordered eating. When I moved to London over three years ago, my Body Dysmorphia was at its worst. Leaving sixth form at 18 and moving away from home to live alone for the first time in a new city, job and university on the side - I found myself on countless diets, followed by binge eating and constantly seeking ways to change my appearance. None of this behaviour was due to anyone or anything specific other than my view of myself - my Body Dysmorphia.
Although many of you may not know or see it, my Body Dysmorphia still affects me every day, although it does not have the same control over me that it used to. Any support for the Mental Health Foundation would be greatly appreciated as I take on this challenge (and let's be honest, most of you will know me and exercise aren't always the best of friends!). Hopefully, it will help to support many other men, women and teenagers going through similar issues.
